Imagine a celebration of all things fandom. Every facet, every genre, every iteration not only present, but also welcome. ALL-CON brings this together under one roof for four amazing days every March! Over the course of the event weekend, you will find so many different communities and conventions represented. Explore exhibits, workshops, discussions, game shows, performances, and competitions every single day! Activities and offerings change hourly and vary from day to day from the start of the day until 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday! Arrive at any time on any day and join in the fun-in-progress! In addition, ALL-CON offers the core structure expected of most conventions. The vendor room and exhibit halls have 80 booths and tables of vendors and artists.

Annually, ALL-CON offers over 300 different choices at one event! Expect a set of headlining features around which the convention is constructed each year. Saturday features the traditional Cosplay Competition as well as a more recent addition, the Labyrinth-inspired ball, A Court of Dreams and Goblins. The annual Comic Book Workshop is held on Friday and Saturday and the Costume Catwalk on Sunday. Enjoy family-friendly content all weekend long including the Photo Scavenger Hunt, The Craft Corner, Miniature Golf Course and even Laser Tag! Game Shows are a popular feature each year as well, offering a variety of programs and prizes for contestants. The rest of the two hundred and eighty plus events are a combination of ALL-CON supplied content (like the Midnight Loot Drop), performances hired by the convention, and a mix the best community-produced features that change year-to-year. Don't forget that Thursday is ALL-CON's free day, open to the public at no cost!

 Who Attends ALL-CON?

Everyone! ALL-CON welcomes many genre-based fan groups each year. Some exhibit to grow their group, some present content, and some just show up to enjoy and participate at the convention. Costumers, from the hard core to the whimsical, are present en masse all day each day. The literary, filmmaking, podcasting, and social media interests are well represented as is the general public. ALL-CON's focus has shifted in recent years from primarily educational to fully interactive content. Especially in the post-Covid era, the need for a venue for in-person socialization is greater than ever, and for four full days the opportunities abound! A popular destination for thousands attendees annually, ALL-CON truly lives up to its name offering content targeted to existing fan cultures while also maintaining a selection broad enough for general walk-in public appeal. An ALL-CON weekend is about everyone enjoying the unique selection of content for that particular year. (Note: The convention maintains family friendly standards until 8:00 p.m. when some events or discussion topics can turn to more mature themes.)

 Which Communities Participate?

It's impossible to pinpoint the specific communities involved because there is tremendous cross over. If we said the "sci-fi community" we would also have to break out the subcultures with large attendances: Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, Star Trek, Dr. Who, Firefly, etc. We would then also have to point out that of sci-fi, we get the gamers, the costumers, and the general fans. Fandom is so diverse that no term or collection of terms does justice to the community or the attendees of this unique convention!

ALL-CON is community inclusive; not exclusive. So, sticking with just the broad interests represented: Sci-Fi, Anime/Manga, Roller Derby, Cosplay/Costuming, Game Shows, Podcasting, Horror, Literature, Art, Super Heroes and Comics, Cinema, Media, Gaming (Tabletop and Video), Theater, Steampunk, Gamers, and Geeks. A wide gambit of communities attend and present content all weekend, every year.

How Long has this Multi-Cultural Convention Been Going On?

The very first event for ALL-CON was February 25-28, 2005 at the Sterling Hotel in Irving. It was the second year, in 2006, that the scheduling permanently changed mid-March. At the end of the second year, ALL-CON had outgrown the Irving location and in 2007, the convention took place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel North Dallas in Addison. The final change in locale for ALL-CON, to the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Centre, took place in 2021. The Hilton offers comfortable rooms, restaurant and food service, and plenty of space to offer such a variety of events that keep ALL-CON and our public happy.

There are so many choices all day, each day, what will you choose to do at ALL-CON?
